Established in 2025 and based in Aotearoa, New Zealand, ONLYBADVISUALS // OBV is a creative media agency devoted to the art of visual storytelling. Specialising in photography, filmmaking, and motion graphics, the agency approaches each project as an opportunity to explore, experiment, and reveal new perspectives through bold and intentional work.
Work produced by ONLYBADVISUALS is deliberate, concept-driven, and unapologetically authentic. Each project challenges expectations while remaining deeply human, balancing technical mastery with imaginative exploration. Every idea is tested, refined, and expanded collaboratively, allowing the work to evolve naturally while remaining grounded in clarity and purpose. OBV embraces contradiction and transformation, recognising that what may appear unconventional or unexpected often reveals the most compelling insights and visuals. CREATIVE DIRECTOR & FOUNDER // LEON RESNIKOV (HE/HIM)
Kiwi born Ukrainian–Russo artist Leon Resnikov is a multidisciplinary creative working across photography, filmmaking, and design. His practice combines technical discipline with an exploratory visual style, producing work that spans cinematic storytelling, experimental imagery, and contemporary commercial production. After studying Screen Arts at Massey University with a major in film, alongside several years of business study, he founded ONLYBADVISUALS in 2025 as a platform for ambitious, boundary-pushing visual work.
His perspective as an artist is deeply shaped by his upbringing. Growing up within mixed cultural environments and spending thirteen years in foster care, he developed a heightened sensitivity to identity, adaptation, and the unseen emotional textures of everyday life. These experiences continue to inform the tone, depth, and curiosity that drive his creative practice.

Russian born, Kiwi raised Alexey Joy, is a Cinematography & Visual Effects Specialist and graduate of the Massey University Bachelor of Screen Arts.

Kia Ora, I’m Seth, a visual storyteller currently based in Wellington, New Zealand. I work across a wide variety of industries and niches but most prominently across photography, design, and indie film.
In August 2025, I founded ONLYBADVISUALS as a vessel for creative liberation, a space to challenge convention and embrace imperfection as an essential part of artistic evolution. Beyond the creation process itself, I remain deeply committed to advocacy and authenticity, believing that every work of art carries the residue of lived experience and the quiet persistence of becoming.
// MY PAST & ETHOS
I was born in 2002 to a Ukrainian-Russian mother and a New Zealand father, growing up in the tension between contrast and identity. Due to a series of unfortunate circumstances in my early years, I ended up in foster care, an experience that has radically shaped my world view and ethos.
For most of my childhood I was disconnected, fractured in a sense, however I found my solace in creativity and art, especially within the photographic mediums, graphic design, and later on filmmaking.
My life has rarely been stable, and I’ve come to see that as a gift. Instability keeps art alive; it reminds me that creation thrives the most in motion, in times of uncertainty, and feeling. Everything I make is born from that ethos, imperfect, honest, and human.
